How does Bumble Work? Let’s find out in this article.
Bumble is a dating app that has gained a lot of attention in recent times, their concept is interesting and most importantly, it lets women take the first step in reaching out.
If you’re wondering what the fuss is all about and how does Bumble work? We’ll dive straight in.
After signing up for an account, Bumble would ask you to verify your account by taking a clear selfie of yourself, as a measure to minimize fake profiles on the platform. You get a cool blue tick and this step also increases the quality of matches for your profile (Provided your profile looks interesting. How to make your Bumble profile interesting? We’ll save that for another article)
On Bumble when people match, the woman has to make the first move.
Once she has sent the first message, the guy has 24 hours to respond, else the match expires and can no longer message each other.
This ensures that both people value each other’s time. Bumble also offers some great filters that you can use to narrow down preferences like What they’re looking for (Relationship, open, marriage etc), Political leaning, Religion, smoker, drinker, wants/doesn’t want kids. You’d be surprised to find people who have similar tastes as you do.
BUMBLE VOICE and VIDEO CALL
Has to be one of the most useful features for any dating app. Bumble allows voice or video calls to your matches to know who they really are and you could get to know them a bit before you actually meet them. With this feature, you won’t have to share your number, rather you could call through the app. You can easily access this feature through the chat window and click either on the Call or Video icon on the top right corner.
Bumble requires an active internet connection to place the call.
Bumble Boost is a power up feature of Bumble app.Bumble Boost literally boosts up your chance of showing your profile to a lot more people. It also shows whos interested in you, Offers you a second change to rematch with expired matches, unlimited time extension so that the matches don’t expire quickly (even if it expires, you can rematch with them provided they haven’t unmatched you) and you also get to use more filters so the app can show more precise profiles who might be interested in you.
Spotlight is a standalone feature of Bumble that you’d have to purchase separately apart from Bumble Boost. The spotlight feature promotes your profile to more people in your city, based on who has liked you, the profiles are shown. Each Spotlight costs 2 coins. You could buy as many coins as you’d like through play store or attaching your credit card directly. I wish they had included this feature as part of Bumble Boost as it would’ve added more value to it.
