There are various Uber cars that can be qualified to fall in various categories of Uber cars like Uber X, Uber Go, Uber Xl or Uber prime. Let’s first get the difference between Uber car types and then which cars can qualify for the same?
- Uber X:
This is a four-seater cab. Normal cars like Toyota Prius, Honda Accord, Mazda3, Ford Escape, Ford Escort and all qualify for this. This is the cheapest out of all.
For UberX, the model of the car has to be of the year 2006 or newer than that. For UberX, they have to classify in the category by passing normal tests during inspection of tires, brakes along with interior-exterior of cars.
For being a driver of UberX, you need not be a professional livery driver, you have to just pass the normal Uber background check. Though some of the drivers may still have a commercial license, but it is not at all necessary.
- Uber XL:
This is a six-seater cab. Cars like SUVs, minivans, Dodge Caravan, GMC Acadia etc. qualify for being Uber XL. The price for this is more than normal Uber X.
The cost is higher than UberX. UberXL is considered to be a great option if you are travelling with a group. The cost can be divided and also the luxury ride can be enjoyed.
The requirements for being a UberXL driver is the same as being the Uber X driver. No changes in the process.
- UberSelect:
This includes cars with high brand like Mercedes, Audi, BMW with leather interiors.
Uber Select is actually a selected option. It is not available in every city. This is perfect for people looking for a luxurious ride for just 4 people but don’t want to either pay high amount for rides like Uber Black.
- Uber Pool:
Then we have the newly joined concept of sharing your ride with other passengers, this can have any car.
Uber Pool is for normal people who have to travel on daily basis. This is a cheap option foe people travelling as a single person or even two of them.
Pool has the route decided and the app itself picks up the pick up location and decides who is going to be the first and last drop off. It depends on how the route goes on.
Uber Pool is basically meant for you to travel with strange people who happen to be in your route. So, avoid making them wait. The waiting time for Pool is 2 minutes and you must board in that time.
Though, Uber Pool is not available for every city so make sure it is!
- Uber Black and Uber SUV:
Uber Black is considered to be the costliest car for their services. They are also the most luxury laden cars with commercial registration available.
Only new model luxury cars are invited to be a part of Uber Black or Uber SUV. Uber Black is for 4 people and Uber SUV for 5 or more people.
Uber Black drivers will have commercially registered cars, a commercial insurance and a high end car.
