There are more than one ways to check IMEI of iPhone, or the serial number of your iPhone. An IMEI number is used to distinguish your device from the others. Let me guide you through 5 of them.
1. From the device software
You can find out your iPhone’s serial number from the Settings app itself.
Step 1: Navigate to Settings > General > About.
Step 2: Scroll down to locate your Serial Number and IMEI listed.
In case you can’t find your Serial Number listed, you may opt out the other options that follow.
2. Engraved on the device
On the models of iPhone 3 and iPhone 4, you will find the IMEI number engraved on the sim tray. You need to first carefully remove the sim tray from the device. On the bottom, you will find the serial number.
Unfortunately, the newer models, starting from iPhone 5, iPhone 7 etc. no longer provide a sim tray. Hence, the serial number is not engraved on the sim tray. You may although look for the IMEI engraved on the back of the device at the bottom.
You may turn to other options to check the IMEI number for those models.
iTunes is a wonder-software for iPhone users. It comes handy in almost everything related to an iPhone, even finding its serial number.
