Bitcoin Ransomware Cripples Boston Legal System for Two Weeks

Over the past two weeks, Public defenders in Boston, (Massachusetts, USA) who are working on cases for indigent clients have been left stranded due to a recent Ransomware attack on the government’s servers without access to emails and other government portals they are crippled.

The committee of public defenders chose not to give into the attackers request to send Bitcoins for restoring the service back to normalcy. This has slowed down the services offered by them and the officials have taken the services offline so they can try and restore them back once the ransomware is removed.
