Follow the below mentioned steps to increase the Wi-Fi hotspot timeout duration in your Moto X Android phone
Step 1: Login to your Moto X mobile phone.
Step 2: Turn the Wi-Fi off, you can do this by selecting Apps > Settings > Wi-Fi > toggle switch towards left to turn it off
Step 3: From home screen, tap on the Apps icon that is present in the home screen of your Moto X Android phone, and then in the search bar type setting. Once the setting icon pops up, again tap on that and this will lead you to Settings menu.
Swipe down on the top on your screen; again tap on top your screen, and you will find nthe Settings icon on the top right corner of your screen.
Step 4: Under Wireless & networks option, tap on more; select Tethering & mobile hotspots
Step 5: Tap on Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, to turn it on.
Step 6: Select Mobile Hotspot settings > Inactivity timeout (You can customize the inactivity timeout as you wish)
You can also configure Mobile Hotspot to change hotspot security and configuration settings and customize it according to your wish
- Network SSID – Here you enter a unique name for your hotspot
- Security – This option allows you to select the type of security you want, then, tap on Save: WEP, WPA, or WPA2.
Then, enter a unique password. Other users can access your Wi-Fi hotspot only if they enter the correct password.
- Broadcast Channel – Select a channel that minimizes potential interference. You may need to try different channels after your hotspot is active for a while ( In order to keep the connection secure, it is strongly recommended to keep a security password )
Step 7: Select Save when the settings are done.
When your Wi-Fi hotspot is active, other Wi-Fi enabled devices can connect by entering your hotspot’s SSID, selecting a Security type, and entering the correct password.
Is it necessary to create mobile Hotspot password?
It is not necessary but in order to keep your connection secure and avoid everyone from using your phone’s data and to avoid heavy data charges, it is recommended to create password.
