Losing your contacts can put you in a difficult situation. You may have lost your phone or got a new one, in any case you need your contacts. If you have saved your contacts on your laptop or computer it becomes very easy to restore contacts to your iPhone. You’ll need iTunes on your computer to sync contacts to your iPhone. If you are using a PC you can only sync contacts one application at a time, while Mac users can transfer contacts from several application at a single time via iTunes. Here we will guide you through the process of how to Sync contacts from laptop to iPhone
Step 1. Connect your iPhone to your laptop or PC via the USB cable.
Step 2. Open iTunes.
Step 3. Select your device on iTunes.
Step 4. After you’ve selected your device, click on ‘ Info ‘ under the ‘ Settings ‘ tab.
Step 5. On clicking ‘ Info ‘, option to sync contacts and sync calendar will appear. Select ‘ Sync Contacts with ‘. You now can choose the source like Windows contacts or Outlook, from where you want to sync contacts on to your phone.
Step 6. Click on ‘ Apply ‘ present at the right-bottom corner of the screen.
You should know that if your contact list on your iPhone differs from that you are syncing, then iTunes gives you the option to either ‘ Replace ‘ or ‘ Merge’. Merging your contacts will create duplicates for similar contacts. iTunes also gives you the option to ‘Replace information on this iPhone‘, where you can replace contacts, calendar and bookmarks
Syncing via iTunes is the most convenient way to sync contacts on to your iPhone. However, if you are too lazy to make an effort then you can always do what I’ve see a lot of people do. Just update your Whatsapp or Facebook status “Phone lost. Send me your contacts”. 😉
